Marguerite’s passions for clay began as a young child where her love for animals blossomed.
She grew up in McHenry, Illinois where her family had a collection of animals, a horse, cats, dogs, a goose, chickens, ducks, a parakeet and fish. The animal theme is an ongoing focus in her drive to create in clay.
Marguerite’s college major was ceramics. She graduated in 1980 with a BFA from Philadelphia College of Art/Universities of the Arts. Her ceramic studies also took her to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and to Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design, Los Angeles, CA.
Until 2017 she had maintained her home studio in Summit, NJ for almost 30 years where she taught ceramics and created her work. Marguerite’s work has been exhibited and sold extensively in the US and Canada and now her roots are happily established in CA.
