This sculpture is part of a series I made called “Opposites Unite.”  The series reflects my yearning for harmony between living things.  In the piece, instead of the raccoon preying upon the chicken, I have the two untied.  I completed the “Opposites Unite” series in January 2020 for my solo show in February at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, Sebastopol, CA. My exhibition ended before its run as a result of COVID-19.  I feel this body of work is more pertinent today because of the pandemic, the death of George Floy, and the divide that our country’s political unrest has caused.
