This small intimate plate is hand built and it is made with a black stoneware clay body before being decorated with underglazes, a carved in drawing and glaze. There is no glaze on the outside, the natural beauty of the black clay is left as is. The small plate can be used to cover over your cup as the tea brews then either hold accent herbs or salt to be set at the table for meals or just left to hold tiny treasures in your home.
